Konflikt '47 battle reports: what changes and how to cover it
Konflikt '47 is Warlord Games' "weird war" game. It is set in an alternate 1947 where the war never ended and new Rift-based technology has brought walkers, mechs and super-soldiers to the battlefield. The current second edition (2025) is built on Bolt Action Third Edition, so it still uses the order dice bag, with its own extra rules.
What is different from a Bolt Action game
- Bigger threats: walkers and heavy mechs move and fight differently from WWII tanks, so viewers need to see facing and range clearly.
- Special units: heroes and enhanced infantry can swing a game. Introduce them when the lists are shown so the big moments make sense.
- Familiar core: orders, pins and dice draws work the same way, so Bolt Action players can follow along easily.
Filming tips for K47
- Use a low angle when a big walker first moves. It is the shot viewers remember.
- Explain any special rule the first time it changes the game, in one sentence, in your own words.
- Keep the overhead view between activations, just like a normal battle report.
Writing tips for K47
Use the same report structure as for Bolt Action. Add one line in the facts box saying it is Konflikt '47 and which edition, since lists from different editions are not interchangeable.
Mixing collections
Konflikt '47 uses the same 28mm scale as Bolt Action, so many Bolt Action infantry and vehicles can also be used in K47 forces. Check your K47 army list for what is allowed.
